The Adventures of Promoting Sleep Music

Branding this project across social media and streaming platforms has been a bit of an adventure, and honestly, it’s probably caused a fair share of confusion!

To keep it short, streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music definitely made my life difficult. Their strict guidelines rule out artist names that describe a genre or sound, like “Music To Sleep To,” insisting on a unique person or band name instead. The catch? I had already bought the musictosleepto.com domain before hitting that wall with my digital albums!

With Music To Sleep To, Vol. 1 ready to go, I needed to get it out the door, so I released it under my own name, Stefan Holodnick. After the dust settled, I formulated an official artist name: Hypnosonica.

In the near future, I’ll be re-releasing Vol. 1 under Hypnosonica, and all new releases will live under this name. So if you spot my work under a few different labels, don’t worry, we’re all the same person:

• Hypnosonica: The main artist moniker going forward.
• Music To Sleep To: Our website home and overall brand.
• Stefan Holodnick: Me, the human behind the music.

Eventually, everything will be nicely consolidated under Hypnosonica. I’ll keep you posted as changes happen and as the music expands to new platforms.
